HSEQ Policy

OSTT’s policy is to prioritize health, safety, and the environment in all activities carried out by employees and contractors, for or on behalf of OSTT. OSTT aims to have an incident and accident free work place. Our employees and contractors shall have the training, tools, and knowhow to remain safe from harm. OSTT shall continuously improve by monitoring and evaluating activities. We believe that safety leads to quality.

Key components of OSTT’s WHSEQ policy are as follows:

  • 1OSTT aims to have an incident and accident free workplace.
  • 2OSTT shall, at a minimum, comply with all applicable WHSE laws and regulations.

We will monitor changes to regulations and adjust and update our operating practices to maintain compliance. This shall apply not only to field work, but also to workplace behavior such that every OSTT staff member respects each other’s rights. There shall be no harassment or bullying of any kind at OSTT.

  • 3Promote a proactive safety culture such that everyone takes responsibility for health, safety and the environment.

We will be trained in safety practices and in recognizing unsafe situations, with “Life Safety Rules” as a starting point. We expect every employee to contribute to his/her own safety and the safety of others. Everyone has the responsibility and authority to stop any unsafe work.

  • 4Reduce inherent risks and continuously address OSTT operating risks.

We will invest in facilities and equipment, and work together with all employees to reduce inherent risks. OSTT shall evaluate all risks individually and implement specific measures and standards to reduce operating risks. If accidents occur, the root cause of each accident will be analyzed in detail to understand root causes and to identify potential for improvement, and to avoid recurrence.

  • 5Develop and continuously improve emergency response capabilities.

OSTT will have emergency response plans and train regularly, in conjunction with responsible agencies, such as the Coast Guard (sea pollution), Fire Department, and others.
